Hello Cubs,

We have our first book review.  This comes from a young lady in the 5th grade, room C205

The book is H.I.V.E: The Higher Institute of Villainous Education by Mark Walden.

Reading Level 7.5 Pts. 12.0 Quiz # 116369

I enjoyed reading H.I.V. E. because I love action, humor, and suspense.  This book has all of those great qualities and more.  When I finished

the first three books of the series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Dreadnought. the fourth book.  If you are wondering, H.I.V.E. is about four

kids (who end up becoming friends) who are sent to a school,  H.I.V.E. unwillingly where they study to become the next

generation villains.  In the end, they try to escape the school.  As a reader, I found that I was hooked to the book and found it hard to put down.

If you're a person who loves action, suspense, humor and more all in one package, then H.I.V.E. is the book you'd love to read.  I would recommend this to 4th, 5th and 6th graders.  I would rate this book a 4.5 out of 5 or 9 out of 10.

The Library Lady's Book Review

The One and Only Ivan

one and only ivan10-10 at 12.34.27 PM.png

By Katherine Applegate

This book won the 2012 Newberry Award.

Ivan is a silverback gorilla who lives with his

friends in a "human habitat" at Exit 8

Top Mall and Video Arcade.  Through

unexpected events Ivan sees his

home through new eyes.  This is a story

of friendship, love, and hope between

animals and humans, and the power of

a promise.

If you love animals as I do,you will enjoy reading

The One And Only Ivan.  I hope it leaves you

with a smile on your face that warms your heart.

My next book will be Wonder by R. J. Palacio
